BUILDING STRONG CONNECTIONS

Big Brother Mac and Little Brother Elijah built a strong relationship over the past 3 years!

“My mentorship with Elijah has taught me to be more patient and a better listener. As he presents me with a challenging question, it improves my ability to clearly communicate my thoughts on what can sometimes be difficult or sensitive subjects. I want to continue to be a consistent and positive influence in his life. He is such a sweet kid, and I hope I can help him stay that way for as long as possible. My favorite memories are seeing his face when he showed up to Dave and Busters to watch the WWE wrestling match and how excited he was when we went fishing – Elijah actually caught a fish! My hope for Elijah is that he never loses his natural curiosity about the world and his kindness towards everyone. I hope he can find his way to a happy and fulfilling future, whatever that may be. I try to remind him he can reach out to me about anything, and I hope to remain a part of his life for as long as he will allow.”

– Big Brother Mac

“Over the last three years, my relationship with Mac has given me a lot of motivation and makes me feel like I finally have someone to play with. Now I don’t have to be home by myself a lot. Mac and I have kept in touch during COVID in lots of creative ways. Mac has sent me lunch and helped me solve computer problems so I could do my virtual learning. I am really excited about the possibly of Mac getting a drone that we can operate at the same time while being apart! My favorite memory is when Mac surprised me a special outing to Dave and Busters. After playing and eating, we watched a WWE wrestling match. The best part about the whole outing was that my Big Brother Mac showed up for me! It was so much fun.”
