For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate has been IGNITING, INSPIRING, and DEFENDING the potential of youth in the Upstate. We believe that every child has the potential to succeed and thrive in life. As a member agency of the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States, we make meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), across the Upstate.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has a mission of creating and supporting meaningful one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and potential of youth. Our vision is that all youth are able to reach their full potential.
MENTORSHIP MATTERS
Mentoring changes lives—we see it every day in the stories our Bigs and Littles share and in the research that supports it. By becoming a mentor, you can experience this impact firsthand. Mentors help children build confidence, improve academic achievement, and enjoy opportunities they might not otherwise have. With the guidance of a caring adult, children and teens are more likely to set higher goals, focus on their potential, and steer clear of risky behaviors, creating a lasting, positive ripple effect in their lives and their communities.
