Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is not only incredibly fulfilling but also one of the most enjoyable experiences you can have. By empowering a child to achieve their potential, you’ll help shape their future for the better—and have fun while doing it.
You and your Little can share activities you already love, like playing sports, going for a hike, reading books, or even splitting a pizza with extra anchovies. Whether you’re offering advice, sharing inspiration, or just spending quality time together, you’ll find the experience rewarding—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact along the way.
Be the Spark
We understand that life can get busy. That’s why our mentoring opportunities are designed to be flexible while making a lasting impact.
Our one-to-one mentoring model asks parents, children, and volunteers to commit to a 12-month relationship. Each month, we encourage Bigs and Littles to spend at least 6 hours together.

Becoming a Big

1. Volunteer Inquiry Form
Complete the Volunteer Inquiry Form to learn more about becoming a Mentor.

2. Orientation
You will be assigned to an Enrollment and Match Specialist and they will invite you to orientation.

3. Application
BBBS will send you an application to begin your enrollment process and background check.

4. Interview
Once you have completed orientation, an Enrollment and Match specialist will reach out to schedule your interview.

5. Match Meeting
This is a chance for Bigs, Littles, and parent/guardians to get to get to know one another within a supported environment at the BBBS office.

6. Friendship & Communication
Now the fun begins! Schedule outings with your Little and check-in with our team on a regular basis.
