Big Sister Kristin Fekete and Little Sister Rachel
Story Behind the Match of Big Sister Kristin Fekete and Little Sister Rachel:
Kristin was Rachel’s teacher in middle school, and they developed a special bond. When Rachel went to high school, Kristin asked to be matched with Rachel to continue to grow their relationship. When Rachel suddenly lost her grandmother and primary caretaker, Kristin stepped up even more as her Big Sister. They have been matched for three years.
Kristin describes how she gives to BBBS Upstate as a Big Sister, “I give to BBBS by being a mentor. I love spending time with my Little and helping her navigate life! She is so much fun to be around! I love helping her dream big and work towards her goals!” Kristin says that giving Rachel her time and attention during the transition from middle school to high school has been rewarding. Kristin will continue to give Rachel direction through setting goals that help her grow and come into her own.
