EVERY TUESDAY IN DECEMBER, WE ARE HONORED TO SHARE OUR NEWSLETTER FOR #GIVINGTUESDAY, SHOWCASING A PERSONAL TESTIMONY FROM A STAFF MEMBER, BOARD MEMBER, BIG, LITTLE, OR CORPORATE SUPPORTER ABOUT WAYS TO GIVE TO BBBS UPSTATE
#GivingTuesday: Featured Staff Member
Madeline Roth, Fund Development Coordinator
As a staff member, I give to BBBS Upstate in three ways:
I look for occasions to give encouragement to my fellow staff members. Recently, I nominated our CEO, Charlene Cheeks, for an Unsung Hero award for her passionate service of at-risk children in the Upstate who have become increasingly vulnerable during COVID. In fact, Charlene was selected as the Unsung Hero of Spartanburg County.
I give information to other people about BBBS Upstate. I do this through posting on Facebook about events, mentors and mentees, and supporters as well as keeping the website up to date.
In my role as Fund Development Coordinator, I give opportunities for individuals, businesses, and grant foundations to provide financial support for our organization. With these generous funds, BBBS Upstate is able to fulfill its mission to give one-to-one meaningful mentoring relationships that defend the potential of at-risk children and youth in our community.
